Using terms one is not aware of to describe normal life situations is becoming increasingly normal among the youth today.

However, the blatant misuse of such terms can have huge impact on someone going through a mental health crisis. The basic rule to ensure empathy for everyone is to inform oneself about the true meanings of many terms and understand how deeply traumatic their consequences are and how personal and conflicting the journeys of those who go through them.

When we choose to learn and unlearn, we provide a space to their voices. We respect what these labels mean.
